By accessing or using CareerScribeAI ("the Service"), operated by JGH CareerScribeAI Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

CareerScribeAI provides AI-powered resume building tools, including resume creation, job description analysis, match scoring, achievement enhancement, cover letter generation, and interview preparation. The Service uses advanced AI technology (including Anthropic Claude via OpenRouter) to help job seekers create compelling career documents. The Service is provided "as is" and may be updated, modified, or discontinued at any time.

3. User Accounts

To use certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
  • Be responsible for all activities under your account

4. Subscription and Payments

Free Tier

The free tier provides limited access to our features with usage restrictions as described on our pricing page.

Premium Subscription

Premium subscriptions are billed monthly or annually. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, you will retain access to premium features until the end of your current billing period.

Refunds

We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee for new Premium subscribers. If you are not satisfied, contact us within 7 days of your initial purchase for a full refund.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose
  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service
  • Use automated tools to scrape or extract data
  • Resell or redistribute the Service without permission
  • Create resumes for others without their consent

6. Intellectual Property

Your Content

You retain ownership of the content you create using our Service (resumes, cover letters, etc.). You grant us a limited license to process and display your content as necessary to provide the Service.

Our Content

The Service, including its design, features, templates, and AI technology, is owned by CareerScribeAI and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our proprietary materials without permission.

7. AI-Generated Content

Our AI features provide suggestions and enhancements based on your input. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all AI-generated content before use. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI suggestions for any particular purpose.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT USING OUR SERVICE WILL RESULT IN JOB INTERVIEWS OR EMPLOYMENT. YOUR CAREER SUCCESS DEPENDS ON MANY FACTORS BEYOND OUR CONTROL.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CAREERSCRIBEAI SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CareerScribeAI from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email or through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
